We are delighted to report that Harbourmaster apprenticeship End Point Assessment has been approved for publication by the Institute for Apprenticeships (IfA) and can be found on the IfA website Here
The broad purpose of the Harbour Master occupation is to enforce regulations and industry codes of practice in a particular port, harbour or marina in order to ensure;
- safety of vessel navigation
- security of the harbour
- protection of the marine environment
- safe operation of the port facilities
Special thanks to our Chair, Amanda Viljoen (ABP), Martin Keeves (Institute of Apprenticeships), and our working group members who have helped us get this apprenticeship through the myriad of development stages. The final announcement on the funding band will follow. Once that is complete and the Institute for Apprenticeships web site is updated, employers and apprentices can crack on with this valuable learning. With the added benefit of funding support from the apprenticeship levy.
