PSS works with its members, stakeholders and Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to develop and update port-specific apprenticeship frameworks in Scotland.
There is currently one framework that PSS has been involved in developing.
- Modern Apprenticeship in Maritime Occupations at SCQF Level 5.
Skills Development Scotland is the national skills body of Scotland.
Scottish apprenticeship frameworks describe the occupation profile detailing the knowledge, skills and behaviours apprentices need to competently perform the job.
The frameworks are delivered including a mix of learning in the workplace, on and off the job training and the opportunity to practise new skills in the workplace.
There are over 100 apprenticeship frameworks approved for delivery.
