With his extensive experience and leadership in the maritime industry, Mike brings invaluable insight to Port Skills and Safety. His passion for safety and commitment to driving improvements in the sector make him a fantastic addition to the team.

We look forward to working closely with Mike as we continue to lead the way in promoting best practices and safety and skills innovation in the maritime industry. Welcome aboard, Mike!

Roles include Port Manager at Grimsby and Immingham the largest port complex in the UK, where he oversaw the movement of 54 million tonnes of cargo each year. Mike was heavily involved in the development of the Immingham Renewable Fuels Terminal, the world’s largest biomass handling facility and has also held senior roles at a number of ports in East Anglia and Humberside.

Alongside his position as a PSS Board member, Mike is also chair of the British Ports Association.

The PSS board works to ensure a clear strategy to make ports safer and to create a highly skilled workforce. It plays a critical role in setting the agenda for a growing safety-critical member organisation.
