PSS has welcomed the start of 2024 Maritime Safety Week, a week dedicated to promoting a safe maritime industry. Whilst this year’s week is muted due to the ongoing General Election campaign, Port Skills and Safety is looking forward to a bumper week of activity.

Across the week, PSS will continue to share all the entries to the PSS Membership Awards, focussing on entries to the safety category. On Monday, the new Health, Safety and Culture four-year strategy will go live and the 2023 annual safety performance benchmarking report will be released on Tuesday. A supplementary look back over ten years of PSS data collection will be published later in the week.

The highlight of the week will once again be the PSS Members’ Conference taking place on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge in London. The event will hear keynote speeches on data, litigation and diversity and the afternoon session is dedicated to the finals of the membership awards.

Maritime Safety Week is in its fifth year and promotes a safe maritime industry, through sharing of best practice and promoting the skills needed by our workforce to ensure that everyone in the port industry is trained to a high standard and able to go home safe at the end of each day.
