Blog post: DP World insight day
News |Published: Apr 14, 2025

In April, PSS CEO Debbie Cavaldoro, joined DP World customers and stakeholders at an ‘insight day’ at their London Gateway terminal.
Hosted by UK Commercial Manager, Mark Viner, DP World’s unique insight events, give their customer and supporters a tour of the port, an understanding of day-to-day operations, information on future growth plans, and the opportunity to ask questions on how their particular needs can be better served.
London Gateway is a prime example of how ports are evolving to meet the demands of a changing world. Purpose-built as a modern container port, it serves as a hub of innovation, efficiency, and sustainability — with further developments on the horizon.

Starting with virtually a blank piece of paper, the port is built to enable the seamless transition of containers from hauliers to ships and back again. Using technology such as remotely operated quay cranes and fully protected walkways, the port enables the separation of person and plant to keep risks to a minimum. Real-time monitoring systems, electronic information boards and computerised passes, mean that drivers are rarely required to leave their cabs, further reducing the likelihood of incidents.
With new long-term agreements in place with many of the leading global shipping lines, and construction underway for two more berths and a second rail terminal, the port is continuing to evolve and could see an increase of 400 jobs once the expansion is completed.

Thank you to Mark and the team for an interesting and ‘insightful’ day. DP World will be holding more insight days across the coming year at both London Gateway and Southampton. Follow them on LinkedIn to find out more.
