PSS is pleased to announce a one-day online Refresher Managing Safely in Ports (MSiP)/Managing Safely course on 28 May 2026. Designed for managers or supervisors who have previously completed the course, it reinforces key health and safety principles, updates delegates on the latest UK legislation, and enhances leadership skills in port safety. Participants will refresh their knowledge, boost confidence in managing safety, learn practical incident response techniques, and strengthen their ability to deliver effective safety briefings.

- Key accident and injury statistics from the past year.
- Safety management issues that led to the highest fines last year.
- Updates to UK health and safety legislation and sentencing guidelines.
- Definitions of key safety terms.
- Components of the HSE’s HSG65 safety management system.
- Health and safety roles and responsibilities at different organisational levels.
- The six Cs of safety culture and actions to improve safety culture.
- Best practices for safety briefings and safety conversations.
- Causes of human failures and prevention strategies.
- The “5 Whys” accident investigation technique.
- Immediate actions required after an incident.
Course fees as follows:
