PSS is pleased to present the fully revised and updated Safety in Ports guidance 001 – Port and terminal planning . It includes new sections on electricity, environmental and community impacts, and rail areas.

This SiP was revised by a PSS Working Group comprising representatives from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), trade unions and port operatives from PSS members, to ensure it fully represents the work undertaken in ports. The SiP is therefore presented in collaboration with the HSE and Unite the Union.

The original version of SiP001 was titled Guidance on port and terminal planning (workplace transport). However, the working group recommended that as the original version did not sufficiently covered workplace transport, this reference would be dropped from the updated version.

The SiP is available free of charge to non-members, while PSS members will also have access to an illustrated version and a range of supporting resources, including a compliance checklist.

To gain access to the members-only version please join PSS.
