PSS is proud to support Maritime Safety Week 2026, taking place from 06 – 10 July, joining organisations from across the maritime sector in promoting the importance of safe working practices and a strong safety culture.

This year’s theme, “Every day, everyone: Making maritime safety routine,” highlights the role that everyone plays in keeping people safe through everyday actions, shared responsibility, and continuous learning.

In a letter to the maritime sector, the Maritime Minister, Keir Mather MP, encourages organisations to use the week to:

  • Reinforce a positive safety culture through shared responsibility and consistent behaviours.
  • Share good practice, learning, and innovation that can help prevent incidents.
  • Recognise the people and teams who put safety first every day.
  • Create opportunities for discussion, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote positive safety messages across the sector through collaborative activity.

The highlight of the week will once again be the PSS Members’ Conference taking place on Tuesday at Courtyard by Marriott hotel, near Heathrow Airport. The event will include an opening address from the minister and keynote speeches with the afternoon session dedicated to the finals of the PSS Awards.

Throughout Maritime Safety Week, PSS will be sharing all the entries to the Best Safety Moment category of the PSS Membership Award. Learn about successful safety campaigns which have had real impact across the sector and be inspired to hold your own Safety Moment.
