We have four categories of membership:
- Full members – typically ports, terminals, port labour supply organisations and those who operate wholly within the ports sector.
- Training Providers – organisations that provide training services to the port industry.
- Affiliate members – organisations that do not work solely within the UK port sector but who make a contribution to the work of ports or operate internationally.
- Community – non-profit, charity and public sector organisation supporting safer ports and skilled port workers.
Our subscription year runs from 01 January to 31 December, the rate for those organisations joining part-way through the year are calculated pro rata.
Subscription rates 2026
The cost of a full subscription to Port Skills and Safety is based on the number of people employed and we have a three tier charging system according to employee numbers. The current rate per head is £33.60 per employee plus VAT, for companies with fewer than 35 employees the minimum charge is £1,176. There is also a special online-only membership for small ports and harbours with less than five employees.

The affiliate membership rate begins at the minimum subscription rate for full members.
The training provider rate is £750 +VAT per annum.
Community membership is open to non-profit organisations and charities, charged at £350+VAT per annum.
