PSS has appointed Head of Risk and Resilience Neal Armstrong to the Board of Directors.
We are delighted to welcome Neal, Head of Risk and Resilience at PD Ports, to the Board of Port Skills and Safety. Neal brings over three decades of expertise, with a broad career background in policing and extensive leadership experience in risk management, resilience, and safety.
Since joining PD Ports in 2019, Neal has transformed a range of essential functions, including Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ), business continuity, emergency planning, and crisis management. He also oversees operational risk, group security, and the harbour police, all crucial in maintaining resilience across PD Ports’ 12 locations. His approach prioritises proactive risk identification, response to disruptive events, and effective recovery, making him a valuable asset to our organisation.
With an MSc with distinction in Risk, Crisis, and Disaster Management from Leicester University, Neal’s academic credentials complement his practical expertise, which includes years as a police officer and work with Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary. Neal’s insights and strategic oversight will be a tremendous resource as we continue to enhance safety and resilience across the sector.
The PSS board works to ensure a clear strategy to make ports safer and to create a highly skilled workforce. It plays a critical role in setting the agenda for a growing safety-critical member organisation.
