Guernsey Stevedores Limited is the longest-established stevedoring business in the Channel Islands. Incorporated in December 1963, it has traded continuously ever since.
Operating in St Peter Port and St Sampsons harbours, the company carries out Roll on Roll off, Lift on Lift off and bulk cargo operations for customers serving Guernsey.
We have a total of 14 staff at the moment; primary role is driving terminal tractors for the un/loading of trailers from Brittany Ferries vessles.
Lo Lo operations are carried out for Channel Seaways Limited and Alderney Shipping Limited which lv out staff on the quayside and on board the vessels carry o un/loading of Lancashire flats and half high units using chains attached to a Bromma lifting frame.
Bulk cargo operations are carried out at St Sampsons harbour for various on island importers of dry bulk products. Cargoes are unloaded using clam grabs attachments, our staff are involved in bulk hopper operations and operating steer machines at the end of the bulk cargo uloading process.
