Moira is Head of Professional Institutions and Partnerships at EngineeringUK, where she plays a pivotal role within the Business and Industry team. Her work spans the organisation’s Corporate Membership and SME engagement programmes, aimed at strengthening the engineering talent pipeline.
With a national remit, Moira works in close collaboration with the 39 licensed Professional Engineering Institutions (PEIs) and a wide network of stakeholders. She supports these institutions in developing and delivering high-quality engagement activities that inspire the next generation of engineers. A core part of her mission is to increase both the number and diversity of young people entering engineering through academic and vocational pathways.
Throughout her career, Moira has championed initiatives that connect young people with opportunities in STEM, foster inclusive pathways into engineering careers, and strengthen the collective impact of the engineering community. Her work is instrumental in aligning national efforts to inspire the next generation of engineers and ensure that the profession reflects the diversity of society.
Moira brings a deep understanding of education and industry collaboration to her role, drawing on her earlier experience in leading impactful STEM outreach programmes, including South Tyneside Manufacturing Forum’s Made in South Tyneside initiative, and TDR Trust’s STEM Engagement Programme.
A passionate advocate for skills development, Moira is both a STEM Ambassador and an Apprenticeship Ambassador. She is recognised for her ability to build strong partnerships that enhance engineering outreach, broaden participation, and create lasting improvements in how young people access and engage with the engineering profession.
