This is a PSS organised course.

Mental health challenges, such as stress, anxiety, and depression, are prevalent in high-risk and demanding work environments, and males under 30 – a key demographic in ports – are one of the highest risk group.

By training mental health first aiders, ports not only enhance staff wellbeing but also create a supportive, safe, and proactive work culture.

Suitable for

Anybody working in a port environment. The course will equip your team with the skills and confidence to recognise and assist colleagues experiencing a mental health issue.

Topics covered

The course will train MHFA to be able:

  • Understand and recognise common conditions
  • Develop essential skills including active listening, empathy and crisis management

Duration

Two days through four engaging sessions.
