Are you finding it difficult to engage your team in emergency planning?

The PSS Emergency Flash Cards are the perfect tool to introduce unique situations and promote interactive discussions. Perfect for toolbox talks, interview tasks, planning, or testing emergency response.

The deck of playing card-sized flash cards are designed to fit easily in your pocket or toolbox. Pick one card from each suit and create thousands of unique scenarios to challenge your team’s emergency preparedness.

Creating scenarios is simple: just select a card from each coloured suit in the deck. Each card provides specific details about location, weather, wind, incident type, and severity. This allows you to craft a detailed scenario for discussion on how to handle the emergency.

Keep your team on their toes – once they have worked through the scenario, throw in the red card to introduce a new variable into the situation – perhaps there is no phone available, or the initial emergency equipment fails. Run emergency scenarios for a specific area by choosing the specific green location card to tailor the scenario to your requirements and then allow a random selection of the other suits to build the scenario.

What users are saying:
“This is a great tool as it supports supervisors in leading an in-depth discussion about incident response.”

“People don’t feel pressured to have the right answer because the situation is randomly selected, allowing everyone to discuss and learn as a team.”

Emergency Flash Card suits:
• Wind and weather: covering variety of conditions.
• Location: including vessels, quayside, warehouses, and maintenance workshops.
• Emergency: including injury, fire, environment, plant and equipment.
• Severity: ranging from issues controlled without outside assistance, to those leading to significant loss and affecting outside parties
• Variable: foreseeable complications such as delayed emergency assistance or communication issues which hamper the response.
