In this interview, we hear from Jack Jeffrey, a second-year T Level Engineering student at Bede Academy, based at the Energy Central Learning Hub. Jack recently completed a four-week placement at the Port of Blyth, working within the Marine Department and gaining valuable insights into marine operations at the port.
Why did you choose to do a T Level in Engineering?
I chose the T Level because I aspire to be an engineer, following in the footsteps of my grandad. I knew this course would set me on the right path to building a successful career in the engineering industry.
What are the benefits of doing a T Level?
There are many benefits, including having a clear pathway into the engineering world across various sectors and gaining an understanding of different types of engineering. Additionally, having a great mentor has been a huge help throughout the course.
What have you enjoyed the most throughout your T Level course?
I’ve really enjoyed the practical work and visits to industries, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find some of the theory lessons enjoyable too!
