Port Skills and Safety has released new guidance at part of its Safety in Ports (SiP) suite. This latest SiP is designed to cover general health and safety legislation and information relevant to all port operations.

SiP000 – Guidance Framework, is intended to be used as the introductory section for every subsequent SiP document. It forms the first part of a complete refresh of the SiP guidance suite which will see future guidance focussed solely on specific port operations.

This guidance has been produced by Port Skills and Safety, our members and trade unions; and in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive.

It is intended for companies operating in the UK ports industry with a duty of care and responsibility for the safe design, construction, operation, management and maintenance of ports and terminal facilities and management of port and terminal activities.
