Early careers headline data report launched

PSS is pleased to present its first early careers headline data report, establishing a baseline view of how the port sector is developing its future workforce.

The report brings together information submitted by port organisations across the UK and reflects a growing focus on evidence-led workforce planning within the sector. The report has been developed to address a long-standing gap in understanding the scale and nature of early careers activity across ports.

While many organisations run apprenticeships, graduate programmes, and other early careers initiatives, this is the first time data has been gathered and presented in a consistent way at a sector-wide level. As a baseline year, the report provides a starting point rather than a comparison, setting foundations for more robust insight in future years.

The publication of the report forms part of PSS’s wider work on skills development, competency, and workforce planning, supporting the sector to better understand its talent pipeline and plan for future skills needs.
