Speaker bio: Les Richings

Les Richings is chair of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ports, Maritime and Waterways Forum. He has been a member for over 30 years and was elected a Fellow of the institute in 2015. Les also sits on its Representative Advisory Group.

Les is a leading specialist in the transport of dangerous goods, bringing over 30 years of experience across all modes, particularly by sea.

He is a director of LRT Ltd, a consultancy and training company whose clients span major logistics and port operators. He is also a member of the technical panel of the International Cargo Handling Coordination Association (ICHCA), where he chairs the Dangerous Goods Working Group.

Actively contributing to national policy and standards, Les is part of the UK Department for Transport’s Working Party on the Transport of Dangerous Goods and secretary of the Dangerous Goods Training Advisory Panel. He holds a degree in education and training and has worked extensively with ports and logistics businesses worldwide.
