Neil first went to Fleetwood Nautical Campus in 1989 and following a 22-year career at sea and continued association with the campus, returned as Head of Campus in 2013.
Neil is the Chair of the newly formed Skills England route panel for Transport and Logistics, with responsibility for maritime apprenticeships and is also a main board member of the Merchant Navy Training Board.
He is a Chartered Master Mariner, Fellow of the Nautical Institute and a Younger Brother of Trinity House. He is still active as a RNLI crewman at Fleetwood lifeboat station, with additional responsibility for crew training.
