Following feedback feed back from the ship to ports communication campaign in 2023, PSS will be running a port to hauliers communication campaign in 2024.
Campaign week will highlight the areas that have been raised by our members, to get involved contact info@portskillsandsafety.co.uk and ask to join the port to hauliers working group.
The first meeting was held online on Wednesday 08 May 2024. PSS and the working group members have formed a draft campaign plan to review and consolidate members best practice basic safety rules for hauliers that can be used generically across all ports. Potential topics for review include:
- Induction at point of entry.
- PPE.
- Following local instructions.
- Compliance.
- D&A.
Working group members are asked to submit the following, where available, by Friday 17 May:
- Internal best practice documents for hauliers.
- Examples of welcome packs given to hauliers.
- Examples of traffic management plans on site.
- Local site guides.
- Existing video links relating to topic that can be shared during campaign week.
- Details of points of contact before and during port access by hauliers (e.g. if there are third parties involved).
- Any introductions you can make to hauliers who may be willing to get involved would also be much appreciated.
The next meeting of the working group will be held at the beginning of June 2024.
