Brittany Ferries has already taken significant steps on its pathway to a sustainable future. By 2025, five new vessels will have joined the fleet in what is the biggest investment in fleet renewal in the company’s history. This includes two ships powered by cleaner liquefied natural gas (LNG) and two LNG-hybrid-powered vessels starting service in 2025.
Further innovations include improvements in hydrodynamic design, routing management and shore power plug-in capability. Compatibility with future cleaner fuels like e-methane and bio-methane (when they come on stream) mean that our newest vessels will automatically become greener, emitting less greenhouse gases in the years to come.
