The Loading and Unloading of Solid Bulk Cargoes
Every year some 1.8 billion tonnes of solid bulk cargoes pass through the world’s ports. Whether or not the cargo itself is recognised as being dangerous, there may be hazards to the port personnel who carry out the cargo handling operation, to people nearby, or to the crew of the ship while it is in the port or at sea. This booklet is intended only as a short introduction to the subject.
