Syllabus for Marine Pilots Training

The development of this syllabus was funded by DfES, through British Ports Industry Training, the National Training Organisation for the UK ports industry. The Warsash Maritime Centre, Southampton and the National Sea Training Centre, Gravesend contributed to the development work.

It is based on the National Occupational Standard for Marine Pilotage and details the specific knowledge and training requirements for a marine pilot to be able to meet the Standard. Guidance is also given on how this might be assessed.
