Zoonose Warning: Mycobacteria Marinum

All subscribers are advised to ensure that their occupational health (OH) adviser is aware of the zoonose – Mycobacteria marinum. This is a rare condition, carried by fresh and saltwater fish, that can cause painful sores in people. Due to the specific origin of the organism, OH staff should be aware of this possible infection amongst the workforce.
