Mobile Crane Failure Through Over Use

Please find attached information from the HSE relating to the failure of a crane when the rated life cycle was exceeded.

HSE remind operators of their duties under the regulations and the specific need to discuss the implications for equipment with the competent person (engineering surveyor manager or other competent person). This includes undertaking thorough examination of cranes and consultation with crane maintenance provider(s) with a view to ensuring an appropriate regime of maintenance, inspection and examination is in place.
