Inf2011 026 Safety Alert - Reefer Container Explosions

REFIGERATED CONTAINER (REEFER) EXPLOSIONS

Recently 4 Reefers when powered up, ruptured their refrigerant circuits and the gas exploded on contact with air. 3 people have died. This is highly likely to involve Reefers which were refurbished in Vietnam in 2011. Although the precise causal link is not yet known work is taking place across the world to establish the cause.
