The Lofstedt Review – Dept of Work and Pensions

Purpose:
Independent review of health and safety legislation

• reduce the burden of health and safety legislation on UK businesses while maintaining health and safety progress

• combine, simplify or reduce approximately 200 HSE statutory instruments and their Approved Codes of Practice

Current Stage:
Calling for evidence submissions

What is industry being asked to do?
Submit evidence via a 10 question, questionnaire – http://www.dwp.gov.uk/consultations/2011/lofstedt-review-cfe.shtml – see attached information paper 2011/013

Deadline:
29 July 2011

What PSS will do:
We will coordinate and submit a joint response from all of the members who wish us to do so – please contact us by 29 June if you would like us to submit information on your behalf.

Members who wish to make their own submission are, of course, free to do so.
