2009 Port Accident Statistics - 20% Reduction in Reportable Accidents

The port Accident Statistics for 2009 have been collated and are published on the Members’ area of the website.

The statistics cover RIDDOR accidents, breaking them down by RIDDOR category, accident type, accident location and month.

The total reportable accident numbers remain low in comparison with recent years and this year we are delighted to report a 20% reduction in the overall incident rate against 2008 figures.

Fatalities have remained flat at zero for the second year running and there has been an overall improvement on major’s, over 3 day accidents, and dangerous occurrences.
