The ACoP (inland/inshore) requires that at least two members of the dive team hold first aid qualifications. This qualification is normally the First Aid at Work certificate issued by the Red Cross, St John’s or similar.
“Diver Medic” is an advanced first aid qualification, specifically for diving personnel, which is to a higher level than the First Aid at Work certificate.Under the Diving at Work Regulations, and the docks inland/inshore ACoP, any member of the dive team holding a valid and in date Diver Medic qualification can be counted as one of the two people required to have first aid training, even though they do not hold a separate First Aid at Work certificate.
